Chairman and CEO

Charles (Charlie) Mahggls is the founder of Mahggls Industries, Inc (MII) and has served as the company’s Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and a director since the company’s inception in 1975.  In 1966 Mr. Mahggls invented Charlie’s Cool Stuff Wax, a product that remains the cornerstone of MII.  He served as Chairman of the Board and President of Charlie’s Cool Stuff Wax until January of 1975 and was also Chairman of the Board of Surf Dog’s Vacation Villas and Charlie’s Surfside Athletic Clubs.  In 1976 Mr. Mahggls’ strategic vision guided the Company through its initial public offering, which has resulted in MII’s expansion to include 10 companies and divisions with sales in fiscal year 2000 of over $9 billion.  Prior to 1966 Mr. Mahggls was a student at the University of California at Los Angeles majoring in Chemistry.  Business obligations prevented him from obtaining his degree but in June 1995 he received an honorary doctorate in Business from the Harvard University School of Business.

Dr. Mahggls has served as Chief Technology Officer and a director at MII since 1997. He pioneered and designed the Luna-1 Set Top Unit, including LunaNet™ and served as Senior Technical Advisor in the development of the SolarJet.  After earning a doctorate in Astrophysics at Cal Tech, Dr. Mahggls worked for the International Telecommunications Organization before forming his own consulting company, Nova Quest, which developed satellite systems for companies worldwide.  Dr. Mahggls is the founder of Solar Winds, a non-profit organization that utilizes satellite communication and provides computer equipment to improve curriculum for public schools in twenty-seven countries.

Brenda Dimesworth joined MII in 1980 as Controller and was promoted to CFO in 1989.  Prior to that, Ms. Dimesworth served as Corporate Controller for Levi Biotech, Inc. one of the pioneering companies in that industry.  She was previously a Senior Accountant with Cash & Kerry LLP and is a Certified Public Accountant in California.  Ms. Dimesworth holds a BA in accounting from the University of Michigan.

Vice President of Marketing and Sales

Jennifer Sheespan joined MII in March 1990 as Director of Marketing for Surf Dog Villas and Charlie's Surfside Athletic Clubs. In 1997 she was promoted to Corporate Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  Ms. Sheespan is the recipient of the Golden Plum, the highest honor awarded by the International Association of Marketing (IAM), for her campaign launching several new Surf Dog Villas.  Prior to that she was the Art Director at Holt, Olson & Todd Advertising (Hot Ads).  Ms. Sheespan holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an MBA in Marketing from Stanford University.
