Surfside, CA – April 4, 2000 – SolarJet, Inc., the company that manufactures the world’s only solar-powered motorcycles, has just unleashed lightening-quick online loan approvals.
“Our customers are into speed,” said Johnny Rocket, SolarJet’s CFO and TTD (Top Test Driver). “The traditional, paper-based loan application procedure was too slow and cumbersome. By moving everything online, we turbo-charged the process.” Loan applications and approvals that used to take two to three days now are completed in a matter of minutes.
The company that developed the new Internet-based system was able to have SolarJet, Inc. up and racing in less than two weeks. “Obviously, we’re not the only ones who feel speed is important,” added Mr. Rocket. “They were incredibly knowledgeable and easy to work with. Right from the start, they were part of the SolarJet team.”
SolarJet, Inc., based in Surfside, California, developed the wafer-thin solar cell technology that powers their motorcycles, in 1997. The first production of 5,000 SolarJets made available to the public in 1999 sold out in less than five hours, an industry record. SolarJet dealerships are now located in every major U.S. city and in 76 foreign cities.

Surfside, CA – August 20, 2000 – Sandcastle Wholesale Warehouse Corp. today announced the introduction of online membership renewal statements and online payments.
“Although our members buy in bulk, they don’t like bulk in their mailboxes,” said CeCe Shore, Sandcastle’s Vice President of Member Relations. “Now we just email a link to those members, they click on it, enter their UserID and password, and up comes their statement. The statement they see on their screen looks exactly like the one they would have received in the mail.” The emailed statements include a link to the Mahggls.com website. Sandcastle can also promote new products and services by attaching electronic inserts. An added value of the system is that when a member retrieves their statement, the system knows and records it. This provides a confirmation to Sandcastle much as a certified mail piece would.
In addition, members receiving their statements electronically can also choose to pay their renewal fee online too. “The turnaround is much faster, and the money we save on processing, postage, stock, printing, and mailing is reflected in lowered prices throughout our stores,” added Ms. Shore.
Online statements have also improved customer service. “Our representatives can pull any member statement up on their PC by entering either the member’s name, account number, membership level, or other search criteria,” said Mera Maid, Senior Manager of Member Services. “If a member has lost or misplaced their statement, we can fax or email them a copy with a single mouse click. We can also print out a copy locally and mail it to them. This has saved us a huge amount of time and provides vastly improved member support.”
